VETROIT is an initiative launched by the Montford Point Marines of America, Inc. (a 501 c 3 nonprofit) to improve the quality of life for veterans emotionally, economically, and financially and to promote the city of Detroit as the premier, most livable city for veterans in the United States. We intend to utilize this platform to make Detroit a more veterans friendly environment. In the process we seek to help increase the population of the city of Detroit by attracting veterans and their families to secure gainful employment, buy homes, start business, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the city of Detroit. Additionally, provide periodic video summits for the purpose of networking and helping veterans to identify lucrative contract opportunities for their businesses.
Our Mission
To make Detroit the premier community in the country for veterans and their families to work and live following their military service and return to the civilian environment.
Our Purpose
To serve as a clearinghouse of information and help navigate veterans to resources including benefits, healthcare, employment, skilled trades, and other assistance available to veterans they may not be aware of. Also, to assist returning veterans after their release from active duty in the U.S. Military and help reduce the number of veterans who are asset limited, income restrained, but employed.
